Overview

UNOC's downstream strategy focuses on developing infrastructure for oil refining and petroleum product distribution to maximize value from Uganda's crude oil. This includes the planned Uganda Oil Refinery and expansion into petroleum product marketing and distribution.

Currently, Uganda imports all its refined petroleum products, spending significant foreign exchange and exposing the economy to international price volatility. The development of local refining capacity will transform this situation, creating energy security and economic benefits for Uganda.

UNOC is actively pursuing opportunities in the downstream sector, including potential investments in storage facilities, marketing companies, and retail distribution networks.

Uganda Oil Refinery

The proposed Uganda Oil Refinery will be the first oil refinery in Uganda, designed to process locally produced crude oil into refined petroleum products for domestic consumption and regional export.
