Who We Are
Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) was established in 2015 under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act, 2013, and operationalized in 2017. The company is wholly owned by the Government of Uganda and operates as the commercial arm of the State in the petroleum sector.
UNOC operates across the entire petroleum value chain, with interests spanning upstream exploration and production, midstream transportation and storage, and downstream refining and distribution. Our role is to maximize the value of Uganda's oil and gas resources for the benefit of all Ugandans, both current and future generations.
As a national oil company, we work closely with international oil companies, government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure the responsible and sustainable development of Uganda's petroleum resources. We are committed to building local capacity, creating jobs, and contributing to the economic transformation of Uganda.
